Faith

St. Timothy Camp is centered around the Orthodox Christian faith. Each day we will have a short Orthros to start our day and a short Vespers to complete our day. We also celebrate the Divine Liturgy together on Sunday and on the feast of the Dormition of the Theotokos (August 15).

The camp has daily Orthodox Life sessions led by the Upstate NY clergy and youth staff.

Activities

St. Timothy’s camp and Oswegatchie offers a wide range of activities. Some activities are low key like kayaking, archery, hiking, and arts & crafts. There are also more extreme activities like water tubing, knee boarding, the high ropes course, and mountain biking.

Each campsite has a fire pit, and there are campfires most nights. Once a week, all of the campers are mixed up and pitted against each other in the Olympic Games!

One Week of Camp: $365*

*If paid in full by 7/15. $395 after 7/15. We believe that no child should miss out on camp because of finances, so please talk to your parish priest about financial aid if necessary.

A Little More About St. Timothy Camp

St. Timothy’s Camp is under the guidance of The Greek Orthodox Detroit Metropolis and his Eminence, Metropolitan Nicholas. The camp is organized by the Greek Orthodox parishes of Syracuse, Rochester and Buffalo New York and attended by Orthodox Christians throughout the state including Central New York, Western New York and the Southern Tier. The camp offers a wonderful opportunity to young people for Christian fun and fellowship and a place to deepen their faith and commitment to Christ. We encourage all our young people to attend St. Timothy’s Camp with a sense of adventure and a desire to grow spiritually, mentally and physically. St. Timothy’s camp is open to all Orthodox Christian youth who are between the ages of 8 and 18 (graduating Seniors).

Parents that are driving your children to camp may stay Saturday evening. There is a $50.00 fee per person which will include Saturday dinner, overnight barrack style accommodations (must bring your own bedding), and Sunday Liturgy followed by brunch. Please call Chris or Cindy in advance to make arrangements. All parents must depart following brunch. Only staff, counselors and campers may spend the week due to limited accommodations and camp policy. For further information please contact Fr. David Smith at frdavid@stsophias.org.
